Late last night the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department received information concerning a snap chat post made by a student at Woodlawn School that was concerning. There was no direct threat but the post reflected agitation on the students part and did contain a photo displaying what was thought to be firearms. Out of an abundance of caution, Sheriff’s deputies along with an officer with the Arkansas game and fish and Arkansas State Police were at the school early this morning. An investigation was conducted and it was determined that the firearms in the photo were actually bb guns and the student does not have access to firearms. The situation was handled and no students were in danger. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to monitor any indications of threats to schools and will take action to investigate any possible problems. If anyone hears or knows of possible threats we ask that they be reported immediately.
