Evans and Sanchez Named BOXTOROW All Americans; UAPB Football Sign Seven Boxtorow

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s football team will look to improve on their 2-9 fall record by signing seven new Golden Lions during the early signing period, while Mark Evans II and Josh Sanchez were named to the 2021 BOXTOROW HBCU College Football All-America Honoree Team.

Evans, a 6’4 295lb offensive tackle, is making his third appearance on the Boxtorow All-American Team. The Houston, Texas native is a two-time First Team (SWAC) All-Conference member, a two-time Boxtorow All-American, a Boxtorow All-American Honoree, as well as a HBCU Classic All-American. He also ranked in the top in the conference in knockdowns and sacks allowed, giving up only one this season.

Sanchez, 6’2 210lb punter, is a newcomer on the HBCU Boxtorow All-American team.  He is ranked as one of the top punters in the SWAC, averaging 40.2 yards per punt ranking 6th in the conference.  The Corning, California native tied for first in the conference with punts landed inside the 20 (21) and ranks 5th in the conference with punts over 50 yards (8).  He also had a career long 68 yard punt versus Southern this season.
