A two-vehicle accident in Calhoun County Tuesday resulted in the death of an El Dorado man.

According to a preliminary report, Charles E. Sellers, 41, was southbound on U.S. 167 and attempted to pass a Kenworth tractor-trailer that was in the northbound lane. The 2007 Honda Sellers was driving crossed the center line and into the northbound lane, then struck the front of the tractor-trailer.

Sellers was killed and the driver of the truck, Marcus L. Tankersley, 53, of Conway was injure and taken to the Medical Center of South Arkansas at El Dorado.

The accident was reported at 6 a.m. and the death was the 565th so far this year on the state’s highways.
