Back in 2014, Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder guested onstage with beloved punk band The Supersuckers during their show in Seattle for a joint cover of “I Believe in Miracles,” by The Ramones. Six years later, the official audio of the live collaboration has been officially released.

The Seattle show was significant for a number of reasons of reasons. One, it was the final show on The Supersuckers’ North American tour, and two, frontman Eddie Spaghetti had been recently diagnosed with throat cancer, and was about to undergo surgery.

“Somehow Eddie had found out about my cancer diagnosis and put the word out that he’d like to come to the show and maybe do something with the band,” says Spaghetti, “especially with the impending struggle I was about to undertake with the whole cancer fright. The song was extra poignant.”

In addition to the joint performance, Vedder also helped Spaghetti find the right hospital and team of doctors, plus wrote him a “big fat check.”

“It was all above and beyond the call for him to provide all that help,” Eddie S says of Eddie V. “I will be forever indebted to him. He’s a good one.”
