A Wilmar woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Drew County Thursday.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Joye Martin, 78, was eastbound on Arkansas Highway 172 when the 2013 GMC Terrain she was driving entered the eastbound road ditch, struck a culvert and overturned.
The accident was reported at 7:25 a.m. and according to the preliminary report the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.
The death brings to 303 the number of people who have died on the state’s highways so far this year.
