The Jonesboro School District has two finalists for their open Superintendent job, and Watson Chapel Superintendent Dr. Keith McGee is one of them according to a press release from the Jonesboro School District.
McGee joins Jonesboro Assistant Superintendent Misty Doyle as a finalist.
Doyle is the current Assistant Superintendent at Jonesboro. She was hired for that position in 2021. Before that she was the Director of Curriculum, School Improvement Specialist, a Principal, and Magnet School Coordinator for the Jonesboro School District.
McGee has served as Superintendent at Helena-West Helena, in addition to serving as Deputy Superintendent of the Little Rock School District, Deputy Superintendent and Interim Superintendent at North Little Rock, and Principal at Horace Mann Arts/Science Magnet Middle School.
Deltaplex News reached out to McGee for a comment when news broke that he is a finalist at Jonesboro.
“I believe in what we are doing and excited to be at Watson Chapel,” said McGee. “We have a great school board that I enjoy working with.”
Final interviews at Jonesboro, including time with community members and staff, will take place on February 19 and 20.
