Dollarway junior athlete Gregory McGown has been named the Week 9 Kevin Bonnette State Farm Player of the Week after a phenomenal game against Smackover last Friday night.
McGown recorded two receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown, returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and recorded 2.5 sacks in the game.
He spoke with Deltaplex News to give his thoughts on being named the Week 9 Kevin Bonnette State Farm Player of the Week.
“It feels good to have this and to have my family and friends to vote for me,” said McGown. “It feels good for my coaches to choose me.”
The Cardinals look poised to make the Class 3A playoffs this year, and McGown gave his thoughts on how he feels his team can compete.
“I think we are capable of making the playoffs, and are capable of winning and going to the championship,” he said.
He also spoke about his athletic goals for the next year.
“I just want to play the sports that I love, have a good attitude, and just keep doing what I need to do for this team,” said McGown.
