On Wednesday, Pine Bluff Street Department Director Rick Rhoden responded to comments from members of the Pine Bluff City Council that he has no plan for working on city streets by providing a copy of the plan to Deltaplex News.

Rhoden was asked where the street department is now with that plan.

Rhoden said a water leak started the issue of the road collapsing and “once it got under the asphalt it produced more gravel on top of the road than there was asphalt.”

In addition to Faucett Road, other streets on the list due for overlay work are Ohio Street from East 28th Avenue to East 52nd Avenue, Port Road from Michigan Street to the top of the levee, Hazel Street from West 40th to West 42nd Avenue, and West Harding Avenue from Olive Street to Poplar Street.

Rhoden was also asked about the condition of the 28th Street Overpass Bridge.
