The Mayor of Dermott announced Monday that citations will be issued to people violating the statewide mandate on wearing masks or face coverings to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
According to the McGehee-Dermott times-News, Mayor Walter Donald said in a statement, “In order to help protect our citizens, city officials will now issue warnings/citations to residents and businesses who are caught not adhering to the state mandate on wearing face coverings.”
McGehee Mayor Jeff Owyoung had also said officials in his city will enforce the mask mandate.
Donald said mask violations may be reported anonymously to the Dermott Police Department at 870=538-5269.
