De La Soul will honor their late member David “Trugoy The Dove” Jolicoeur with a special event at New York City’s Webster Hall. The D.A.I.S.Y. Experience will see family, friends and fans of the group unite to celebrate Trugoy’s life and legacy, and De La Soul’s impact, in a venue that will be decorated with artwork from the 3 Feet High and Rising album.
Included in the guest list are, of course, De La Soul’s remaining members Kelvin “Posdnuos” Mercer and Vincent Lamont “Maseo” Mason Jr. The Originals — Stretch Armstrong, Clark Kent, Rich Medina and Tony Touch — will also be in attendance, as they’re curating a DJ set dedicated to the group’s legacy.
The DA.I.S.Y. Experience, named after the group’s song “D.A.I.S.Y. Age” and an acronym for ”Da Inner Sound Y’all,” will take place March 3, the same day their music will make its way to streaming services.
Fans can RSVP for the free event or watch The Originals’ set on Maseo’s Twitch channel at 8 p.m. ET. Rob Markman and Free Marie‘s interviews with De La Soul’s friends will also be available to livestream, starting at 10:30 p.m. ET via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
