Dave Grohl brought the snares to his rhythmic remix to the Christmas classic “The Little Drummer Boy.”  To do that, he enlisted the help from LA-based pop duo, The Bird and the Bee.

Appearing Thursday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of the show’s concert series, the Foo Fighters founder gave the classic holiday tune a rock-infused rendition that brought the drums front and center.

With the BatB’s Inara George and Greg Kurstin on vocals and guitar for the socially distanced performance, the group teased their festive compilation album Put Up the Lights, which was released in October.

Meanwhile, Grohl and Kurstin have teamed up over the past few nights for The Hanukkah Sessions, during which they’ve been dropping new covers by different Jewish artists for each night of the holiday. The series came to a close Thursday night with a rendition of The Velvet Underground‘s “Rock and Roll.”

The Hanukkah Sessions has also included covers of songs by Beastie Boys, Drake, Mountain, Peaches, Bob Dylan, Elastica and The Knack.
