Jefferson County Clerk Shawndra Taggart has announced the filing period for independent candidates for city and school board elections in November.
Municipal candidates filing with petitions may begin circulating petitions May 7, 2020.
Cities of the 1st class require 30 signatures.
Cities of the 2nd class and Incorporated Towns require 10 signatures.
Municipal filing with petitions begins July 29, 2020 thru August 5, 2020
School Election November 2020
School board filing period begins July 27, 2020 thru August 3, 2020.
School board candidates may begin circulating petitions May 7, 2020.
Petitions require 20 signatures.
All petitions must be printed on LEGAL SIZE paper.
