DaBaby is expected to perform in-person at Chicago’s three-day Headlights Festival this weekend.
The Charlotte rapper is ready to dominate the stage to perform his variety of hits, including his bruising single “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch, which has held the No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks. This makes Baby the first artist ever to notch five consecutive No. 1 records on urban radio.
The Chicago-Sun Times reports DaBaby will perform two sets, at 2 and 7 p.m on Saturday, July 25, during the drive-in entertainment experience, which has become popular over the last few months in light of canceled tours and concerts due to COVID-19. Some artists will be performing virtually.
The live music festival was initially scheduled to take place at Hazel Crest’s Cross Pointe Park but will now be hosted as a pop-up drive-in festival while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
Friday night begins with “Chosen Few DJ’s House Music and a Movie,” where fans will enjoy a live set followed by a screening of the 1975 Chicago film Cooley High. Guests can look forward to Saturday’s artists such as DJ Drama, Napalm, and South African rapper PatricKxxLee.
As for Sunday, July 26, look out for performances from the astonishing KeKe Wyatt, gospel singer Charles Jenkins, and the 12-year-old sensation Keedron Bryant, known for his viral performance of Black Lives Matter anthem “I Just Want to Live.”
Tickets are $4.99 and available on Eventbrite.
