COVID Cases Continue to Trend Downward

At least 26 new coronavirus deaths and 667 new cases were reported in Arkansas on Feb. 17. Over the past week, there has been an average of 607 cases per day, a decrease of 63 percent from the average two weeks earlier.

As of Thursday afternoon, there have been at least 314,192 cases and 5,313 deaths in Arkansas since the beginning of the pandemic, according to a New York Times database.

Jefferson County has seen 17 new cases down from 79 new cases two weeks ago.  The average daily cases are also down from two weeks ago at 83 to 35 Thursday. The number of hospitalized Covid patients has also fallen in the Jefferson County area by 22%. Deaths have remained at about the same level.
