A $25,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who is currently on probation after he allegedly forced his way into a house and assaulted his girlfriend.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Keundre Coleman, 20, with second-offense third degree domestic battery and residential burglary.

Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said police were sent to a house in East 17th Avenue Friday where the alleged victim said Coleman came into her house by forcing open a screen door, then grabbed a bat and broke her television and tried to break other items.

Detective Corey Wilfong reported that the victim said he had locked the screen door of her house but not the entrance door and said after Colman had broken the television, he dragged her out of the house. She said she had an active order of protection against Coleman.

When Coleman was questioned, he said he had gone to the house and the victim let him in. He said he knew there was a protection order against him and said he grabbed the bat because the victim had a gun. He said he grabbed the bat and threw it at the television.

Carson said police reported that the victim had scratches to her face and other injures and her pants were wet where she had been dragged through the mud.

Court records showed that Coleman was placed on probation in June on charges of theft of property, residential burglary and misdemeanor domestic battery.

Coleman said he would hire his own attorney and was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
