During committee meetings Tuesday, the Jefferson County Quorum Court recommended that an appropriation ordinance for nearly $484,000 for the County Road Department be approved.

More than half of that money came from an auction of department equipment including two tractors with sidearm mowers, tires, a 2007 brush truck, a 1996 welding/service truck, and a 1995 flatbed lube, fuel truck.

Another $155,000 plus came from FEMA for disaster relief.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Wednesday, County Judge Gerald Robinson was asked about the road department.

He went on to discuss a new road that will be opening soon.

The appropriation ordinance will be voted on when the Quorum Court meets Monday at 5:30 p.m.
