During a meeting of the Jefferson County Quorum Court last month, Count Judge Gerald Robinson asked a sheriff’s deputy to remove Justice of the Peace Lloyd Franklin Jr., who was causing a disturbance and refused to stop talking and arguing.

The Deputy refused Robinson’s request and on Tuesday, Robinson appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show and was asked why the deputy didn’t comply with Robinson’s request.

Robinson was then asked how many times he had asked for someone to be removed from meetings and answered this way.

He said that while presiding the meeting, he was performing a judicial function.

Before he was elected County Judge, Robinson was Jefferson County Sheriff but said he was not the sheriff at the time he and another deputy removed Carroll. He then went on to say that at a future meeting, if he asks that someone be removed, it doesn’t have to be the sheriff or a deputy who removes that person.
