Through the first four months of this year, Jefferson County has received more than $8.4 million more than it did in 2020 and spent just over $6.1 million more.

Specifically, Jefferson County has collected $26.4 million from January to April and spent $24.3 million.
That compares to collecting $17.9 million and spending $18.2 million in 2020.

County Treasurer Vonysha Goodwin reported the numbers to the Quorum Court during their meeting Monday

Looking at specific numbers, the county collected $10.5 million in April compared to just over $4 million in April 2020, and Goodwin was asked about the difference by Deltaplex News.

In terms of expenditures in April, the county spent $8 million while spending $4 million in April 2020.

The county’s General Fund also showed an increase in April compared to April 2020 with a balance of $2.1 million. In April 2020, the General Fund balance was $1.1 million.
