County fairs will return to Grant and Lincoln Counties this year after being shut down in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sheridan Headlight newspaper reported that the Grant County Fair will run from Sept. 21 to Sept. 25 with events like the livestock show held at the new fairgrounds location on Highway 167 north and others like the carnival and rodeo at the old fairgrounds by the armory. Face masks will be optional for all events, both indoor and outdoor.

A parade to kick-off the fair will take place Sept. 21 beginning at 6 p.m. and the carnival starts the same day. The rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 8 p.m.

The Lincoln County Fair will be held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Star City.

The fair parade will be held Oct. 29 beginning at 5 p.m. The carnival, Kenny’s Fun Land, will open after the parade and will be open through Saturday.

The Lincoln Ledger newspaper reported that exhibit buildings will be open until 9 p.m. Social distancing is suggested and masks will be required inside the fair buildings.
