One person died in a collision with a semi-truck Wednesday in south Arkansas, state police reported.
Jimmy Russell Mitchell, 18, was driving a 2008 GMC east on Arkansas 160 at Arkansas 7. He was trying to cross Arkansas 7 about 4:30 p.m. when he drove in front of a 2003 International traveling north on the highway, according to state police. The big rig crashed into the front right side of Mitchell’s vehicle.
Mitchell of Smackover was killed.
The truck driver, identified as Eric Williams, 30, of Pine Bluff, was taken to the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.
State police said conditions were clear and dry when the crash happened.
