Cleveland County has recorded its first COVID-19 death following the death of a 76-year-old white female from Kingsland at Jefferson Regional on Wednesday.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley confirmed the death to DeltaplexNews.com.
Kelley reports that the case originated in Kingsland. The patient was eventually transported to Jefferson Regional hospital in Pine Bluff where she succumbed to the virus.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health Cleveland County has had 46 total cases of COVID-19 with 35 of those patients having recovered from the virus as of Wednesday afternoon.
