A Cleveland County man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Rison Friday morning.

According to a preliminary report, Jay Warner, 37, of Rison was southbound on Main Street entering a rail grade crossing when the 2017 Nissan he was driving was struck by a westbound train. After impact, the vehicle came to rest along the north side of the rail grade crossing.

Warner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident was reported at 2:52 a.m. on Main Street north of West 1st in Rison.

The death was the 307th so far this year on the state’s highways.
