The controversial mural in downtown England has undergone some major changes. At first, the mural depicted the city known for its cotton fields in an earlier time period. The original mural showed two workers wearing hats and hauling cotton. The color of their skin wasn’t visible, but residents believed the painting portrayed a slave plantation. England Chamber of Commerce says after the backlash, the decision was made to paint over the two workers.
