The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a homicide investigation.

Dispatchers received a call at 3:01 AM of a shooting at 318 W. 15th.  When Officers arrived they located a male with apparent gunshot wounds lying in in a car in front of this address.

A second male with a gunshot wound was also present.

The male in the car was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office and identified as 30-year-old Shamarrius “Mario” Henderson.

The second male was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  His injury is reported to be non-life threatening.

The second male stated that he and Mr. Henderson were in the car at the intersection of 5th and University when a male began firing at their vehicle.  He drove the car to 318 W. 15th to call 911.

The investigation is in the early stages and there are no reported suspects at this time.  Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call the detective office at 870-730-2090 or the dispatch center at 870-541-5300.

The body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.  This is the 28th homicide for Pine Bluff in 2021.
