Chris Jones, a Pine Bluff native, announced Tuesday that he has joined the race for Governor in the 2022 Arkansas gubernatorial elections. Jones is currently a nuclear engineer and the former executive director of Winrock International’s Arkansas Reginal Innovation Hub, a non-profit organization out of North Little Rock.

According to sources, Jones, 44, is the fourth candidate to run as Democrat for Governor. Other Democratic candidates include Baptist minister Anthony Bland, political newcomer James Russell, and businesswoman Supha Xayprasith-Mays. Libertarian Ricky Dale Harrington also plans to run for governor.

Jones launched his campaign in his hometown of Pine Bluff on Tuesday, June 15th. He also expressed to Deltaplex why running is important to him,
