The Chris Cornell estate is not involved with with the upcoming film Black Days, which purports to be a biopic about the late Soundgarden frontman.

In a statement to SPIN and Pitchfork, a rep for the Cornell estate says Black Days “is not sanctioned or approved by the estate. No one contacted the estate for any information.”

According to the Black Days Twitter page, the film will follow Cornell’s “last days.” Actor John Holiday, who previously had a role in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line as rockabilly icon Carl Perkins, appears to be playing Cornell in the movie.

The Black Days website says the movie is currently in production.
