According to the monthly report, there were 14 structure fires reported in April in Pine Bluff and the Fire and Emergency Services Department reported that three of those 14 were classified as arson.
Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Friday, Chief Shauwn Howell was asked about the arsons.
Morning show host Greg Horne asked Howell if most of those arsons were intentionally set or was it a case of homeless people trying to keep warm and the fire got away from them.
Howell was also asked if police worked with the fire marshal on the arson cases and he responded this way.
The report showed that of the 14 structure fires last month, two were in Ward 1, six were in Ward 2, four were in Ward 3 and two were in Ward 4.
