The City of Pine Bluff has seven fire stations in various parts of the city with at least one fire engine at them. There are also two ladder trucks, and Fire and Emergency Services Chief Shawn Howell said Friday that it is expensive to replace one of those trucks.

Deltaplex News asked Howell how often the city buys a new fire truck.

Howell went on to say that city officials are looking at a fleet replacement plan for the department.

He said that the cost of the trucks goes up every year and because of COVID, manufacturers have slowed down building new trucks.
