An accident in Chicot County claimed the life of one man and injured four others last Friday night.

The accident occurred around 10:40pm.  According to a preliminary report by Arkansas State Police, 55-year-old Patrick Scott of Eudora was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle. Chkyiah Keyara Wiley, 22 of Monroe, Louisiana, Darren Lamar Toney, 35 of Lake Village, an unnamed juvenile, and 27-year-old Terry Flowers of Ruleville, Mississippi were injured.

According to the accident report, Scott was southbound on Highway 65 in a Chrysler 300 when he attempted to pass the Kia Rio driven by Wiley. In the process, he struck Flowers’ northbound Volvo head on before his Chrysler then struck Wiley’s Kia. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene and the four injured were transported to a local hospital.
