A $10,000 cash only bond was set Tuesday for a Jefferson County man accused of driving a stolen vehicle in the White Hall area Monday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Hunter Reynolds with theft by receiving.

Reading from an affidavit from White Hall Police Maj. Mickey Buffkin, Deputy Prosecutor Caleb Conrad said a White Hall officer was on patrol on Dollarway Road when he saw a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Warren.

The officer attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle, driven by Reynolds pulled into the parking lot of a church at 8708 Dollarway Road, then went to the back of the parking lot where Reynolds got out and fled on foot.

Buffkin reported that officers confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen and took Reynolds into custody after a short chase.

Conrad said Reynolds has had prior convictions for theft of property in 2019, possession of a controlled substance in 2019 and has pending charges of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver stemming from an arrest earlier this year.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Reynolds.
