A Carthage man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in rural Dallas County Thursday.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Gary Eugene Rogers, 62, was northbound on Arkansas Highway 229 when the 2007 Ford F-150 crossed the center line and hit the front bumper of a vehicle that was southbound in a side-swipe manner. The Ford then left the roadway and overturned.

The accident was reported at 10:25 a.m. and according to the preliminary report, the weather was clear, and the roadway dry at the time.

The death was the 169th reported so far this year on the state’s highways.
