A Crossett woman died and her passenger was injured in a single vehicle accident Sunday on U.S. 425 South in Ashley County.

According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report, Angela Marie Craig, 39, the driver of a Jeep Patriot, died in the accident. Her passenger, Shawn White, 41, also of Crossett, was injured.

Craig was driving south on U.S. 425 when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, re-entered the highway, and crossed both the south and northbound lanes before leaving the roadway again. The vehicle then rotated in a clockwise direction, ejecting the driver. The vehicle came to a final rest on its wheels in the north ditch, facing north, according to the accident narrative in the police report.

The accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. on November 3. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident. At least 414 people have died as a result of accidents on Arkansas roads this year.
