Proposed ordinances dealing with buying goods and services and regular reporting by boards and commissions will be on the agenda Tuesday when the Pine Bluff City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Convention Center.

The meeting was moved from its traditional Monday because of the 4th of July holiday.

Up for a second reading is an ordinance sponsored by Council member Bruce Lockett that requires competitive bids be taken on any purchase over $20,000 by advertising in a local newspaper as well as publication in other media.

Prior to seeking bids, department heads will be required to submit bid proposals to the appropriate oversight committee.

Also up for a second reading is a proposed ordinance sponsored by Council members Joni Alexander and Lloyd Holcomb Jr. which will require board and committees to file a monthly report of their activities for the previous month as well as a copy of any meeting minutes.

The proposed ordinance also calls for boards and commissions to present an annual report of their activities, to include the names of all members of the board or commission, and the expiration date of their term.

A resolution approving the Pine Bluff Transit Authority’s adoption and enforcement of the federal Title VI program is also on the agenda.
