Former Pine Bluff City Councilman Glen Brown Sr., will be going back to the council in January and will be joined by political newcomer Steven Shaner after both collected wins in the general election.

Brown, who won the Democratic primary defeated Bill Brummett, who had also served on the council and filed as an independent for the Ward Three position. The unofficial but final results were Brown 2,681 and Brumett 1,288.

In the Ward 2 race, Democratic Shaner collected 2,466 votes to defeat Yvonne Denton who collected 1,756 votes.

Pine Bluff attorney Mac Norton won the race for Division Three of Circuit Court, which includes Jefferson and Lincoln Counties, defeating Therese Free by 573 votes. Norton picked up a total of 10,080 votes between the two counties while Free got 9,503.

Also, Republican Trent Garner was victorious over Democrat and Pine Bluff native Keidra Burrell in Senate District 27, which includes much of Southeast Arkansas.
