A report of suspicious activity around the adult detention center Friday night resulted in the arrest of two people who attempted to introduce contraband into the jail.

Catrila Sanders, 38, was identified as the driver of a vehicle seen in the area and Oliver Moore, 36, was identified as the person who attempted to throw a bag containing drugs and other items over the fence.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said Investigator Sandra Harper found the bag hanging on the barbed wire fence and described its contents.

Investigator Morgan Carter reported that the video of the vehicle seen was used to obtain a license plate that returned to Sanders. Carson told the court what Sanders said when she was interviewed.

She said Moore has multiple prior felony convictions and an extensive criminal history and because of that, Jefferson County Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $75,000 bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver and furnishing prohibited articles. A $25,000 bond was set for Sanders, who has no prior convictions or pending charges on the same allegations. Sanders and Moore said they would hire their own attorneys.
