A $2,500 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff woman involved in a domestic disturbance on drug related charges.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Shameshia McClain, 29, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Aaron Robertson, Deputy Prosecutor Carol Billings said McClain was arrested after police were sent to a reported domestic disturbance at a house in the 4100 block of West 5th Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. When officers arrived at the residence, they heard the disturbance and entered the house where they saw McClain pulling a male out of the bedroom by his hair.

Billings said one of the officers grabbed McClain and the man to keep them from hurting each other and while attempting to handcuff McClain, they saw her pulling plastic bags containing a green vegetable substance from her pocket.

Robertson reported officers collected three bags of the substance which tested positive for marijuana and weighed a total of 42 grams.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent McClain who Billings said had no prior record.
