Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Calvin Brown Jr., 22, with third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said Detective Corey Wilfong took a statement from the alleged victim on Wednesday and reported that she said Brown had pushed her to the ground and choked her twice. She said she was five months pregnant and Brown had been to every doctor’s appointment with her and knew she was pregnant.

Wilfong reported that Brown was not questioned because he asked for an attorney.

Brown said he would hire his own attorney and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
