An investigation into a reported stabbing Monday led to the arrest of a woman who allegedly admitted being in an altercation with the victim but denied stabbing her.

Tamela White, 35, was taken into custody by police Wednesday and when questioned by police, said the victim was the one who had the knife.

During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said police were sent to Jefferson Regional Hospital where they talked to the victim.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $7,500 bond for White after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with second-degree battery. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court July 17.
