A Warren man was arrested on drug related charges after a traffic stop by Arkansas State Police Saturday.

Franky Smith, 62, was taken into custody after a trooper stopped a U-Haul that Smith was driving.

Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said state police dispatch received a report that the U-Haul which was pulling an empty car trailer, was driving recklessly and a trooper got behind the vehicle and confirmed that.

Carson said Smith told the trooper there was a gram of methamphetamine in a cigarette box inside the vehicle and a search also located 4.4 grams of marijuana, a glass smoking pipe, and other drug paraphernalia.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Smith after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with possession of methamphetamine and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was told to come back to court April 6.
