A $5,000 bond was set Monday for a man accused of driving a car that had been reported stolen.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Paul Criswell, 56, with theft by receiving and with possession of a controlled substance because suspected methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from White Hall Police Investigator Clayton Cantrell, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained the circumstances of the arrest.

McGriff said Criswell, whose residence is listed as Havana, Arkansas, has a prior drug-related conviction in Saline County in 2006. He was told to come back to court on May 24.
