The body of a missing Drew County man was found on Saturday morning, according to a press release.

Deputies say the body of Marquis Martin, 26, was found in a creek just outside of Wilmar around 7:05 a.m.

Arkansas Game and Fish along with Arkansas State Police arrived at the scene after someone called to report that the body had been found.

Martin was pronounced deceased at 9:40 a.m. by the Drew County coroner. The body will be transported to the state Crime Lab to determine the cause and manner of death.

Martin was reported missing by a family friend on February 11 after he failed to report for work on February 10 and February 11. He was last seen alive on Sunday, February 9, at 9:21 p.m. when his image was captured on a surveillance video at Murphy’s USA gas station in Monticello.

Martin reportedly was given a ride from the gas station to his home in Wilmar, according to information in a news release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Marquis Martin,” said Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober.
