Hard work and consistency pay off … just ask Blxst. The singer, who launched his music career in 2014, has earned his first Platinum certification.

“Chosen” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Tyga has sold 1 million units, according to the RIAA. The 2020 single officially obtained Platinum status on July 22, but the news has been widely reported all week. 

“Blxst is a game changer and we are thrilled to see the continued success of ‘Chosen’ and his monumental growth as an artist,” said Greg Hammer, managing director of Red Bull Records, who launched the song alongside Blxst’s Evgle label. “The entire Red Bull Records crew and I look forward to what’s to come with this incredible talent and our partnership with the Evgle team. Congratulations to Blxst for this well-deserved accomplishment!”

The success of “Chosen” comes as no surprise to Blxst fans. The song debuted at #51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent eight weeks as the #1 single on the Billboard Rap Airplay chart.

The single was featured on the deluxe version of the singer’s debut EP No Love Lost, which also includes songs “Overrated” and “Got It All” featuring Dom Kennedy.

Blxst has since released an EP — Sixtape 2 with Bino Rideaux — and an LP — Before You GoHis tour supporting the latter project runs through Nov. 16, making stops throughout the U.S. and Europe.
