BLOSSOMS TRIO EARNS ALL-GAC HONORS

Softball GAC Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Haley GodeauxKatelynn Stamper and Bailey Camp earned All-Great American Conference recognition after leading the University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team to its first appearance in the GAC Tournament since 2017. The trio was named All-GAC honorable mention, the league office announced Wednesday.

Godeaux and Stamper were also joined by fellow senior Sierra Gasca and junior Caroline Tedder each being named a GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete.

Godeaux garnered her All-GAC honorable mention selection following a strong senior campaign behind the plate. The Cecila, Louisiana product finished the regular season with a stellar .972 fielding percentage and lead the GAC in runners caught stealing with 14. Offensively this season, Godeaux led the Blossoms doubles (6) and triples (2) and tied for the lead in runs scored (21). Her two triples moved her into a tie for seventh in program history with five career triples. She is also second on the team this season with 34 hits and tied for second with three home runs.

Stamper earned All-GAC honorable mention honors following a season in which she led the Blossoms in hits with 35, stolen bases with 14 and tied for the lead in runs scored with 21. The senior infielder tied the UAM record for career stolen bases in the final game of the regular season giving her 55 stolen bases in her career as a Blossom. Her 14 steals this season is tied for fifth in the GAC and also moved her into the top 10 in career stolen bases in the league.

Camp burst on the scene with a strong freshman season for the Blossoms to receive All-GAC honorable mention recognition. The Perryville, Arkansas native led UAM in batting average hitting .358 and on base percentage at .431 in 33 games in her first season in a Blossoms uniform. She also finished the regular season tied for second on the team in hits with 34 and stolen bases with nine.

The trio helped lead the Blossoms to a GAC Tournament berth winning their final six games of the regular season. UAM will go for its first tournament victory since 2017 when they take on the top seed Southern Arkansas Friday at 1:30 p.m.
