Deltaplex’s own William Jenkins hosted the second block of this year presented by Uptown Salon and The City of Pine Bluff in the downtown area on Saturday, May 22nd. The block party was free to the public and began at 4 pm and lasted until midnight featuring live performances, food trucks, and local vendors.

“The block party went very well, and I just want to thank the City of Pine Bluff for their help to sponsor it. It was a great turnout featuring the newly renovated downtown area, very peaceful,  and I look forward to hosting another one in the near future,” said Jenkins.

The event was blocked off from 2nd avenue through 3rd with children and families connecting through music and socializing. There were over five local vendors present along with an outside bar, and eight food truck options from BBQ, soul food, taco salad, and more.

“It was a nice environment, being able to come out in the city to have good clean fun was very refreshing,” said Brianna Mathews who is a Pine Bluff native. Jenkins mentioned that he will implement themes for future block parties. He added that the first in mind is an ‘old-school’ themed set to take place during the summer months.
