A Benton man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Saline County Tuesday afternoon.
According to a preliminary report. Eric Jon Vernon, 57, was northbound on Arkansas Highway 35 at 6:45 p.m., when the 2002 Yamaha motorcycle he was riding crossed into the southbound lane and hit a 2012 GMC Sierra pickup head-on.
The drive of the truck was not injured.
The death was the 17th so far this year on the state’s highways.
