Baseball Loses At UALR

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team lost at Arkansas-Little Rock 12-3 Tuesday at Gary Hogan Field.

Nick Kreutzer and Bryce Roesch each had two hits for UAPB, which had eight hits in the game, but stranded a runner on second or third in six of the first seven innings.

The Golden Lions got on the board in the first. With one out, Kreutzer doubled to center, moved to third on an error, and scored on a passed ball for a 1-0 lead.

Trailing 4-1 in the fourth, a two-out double by Jarficur Parker scored Tywan Mackey Jr., who reached on a fielder’s choice to cut the deficit in half, 4-2.

Trailing 7-2, UAPB added a run in the seventh. Bryce Roesch singled with one out and moved to third on a two-out single by Kreutzer. Roesch then scored on a wild pitch for the final Golden Lion run.

UAPB returns to action Friday at 3 p.m. hosting SWAC Western Division leader Southern in game one of a three-game series at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex / Bill Jones Field.
