An attorney for Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., has asked a judge to find Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson in contempt of court for failing to pay bills for the adult and juvenile detention centers.

The court filing also names the 13 members of the Quorum Court in their official capacity.

Attorney Kimberly Dale said in a court filing Thursday that Sysco Food Systems is owed more than $184,000 and has cut off any additional credit to the county. She went on to say that the food supply at the juvenile detention center will runout Sunday while the food supply at the adult jail runs out Monday.

The court filing goes on to say that Woods has sought out other vendors such as Ben E. Keith but those vendors have refused to extend credit to th4e county because of the unpaid bills.

Dale also contended that the use of software used to process fines and bond money at the jails was in jeopardy due to nonpayment and the County Judge’s Office has denied the claim for payment.

The court filing also said that Robinson did not deny claims from any other  agency or department in the county and an attorney for the county, in a filing In early January confirmed that statement.

Robinson declined to talk about the allegations when he was contacted by Deltaplex Radio Friday and said the issues will be heard in Court at the end of January.
