A White Hall man was arrested Thursday after police found his two-year-old child in the middle of a street unsupervised.
George Dodd, 51, was taken into custody after White Hall officers were sent to White Hall Road at 8:15 a.m. after a report that there was a child in the middle of the street.
During a court hearing for Dodd Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West read from an affidavit by White Hall Police Maj. Mickey Buffkin.
West said Buffkin told Dodd that any child in that home was not going to be safe due to his negligence in ensuring that the doors and windows close properly.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $15,000 bond for Dodd after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with endangering the welfare of a minor. He was ordered to have no contact with the child and told to come back to court Jan. 18.
