Arkansas Wins Historic Match Up Over UAPB 45-3

The atmosphere was electric at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium Saturday morning as both U of A and UAPB fans flooded the parking lot and tailgate areas. The Razorbacks dominated the game but the fans cheered for both teams as the Golden Lions fought valiantly throughout the ballgame.

Arkansas waisted no time getting on the board, scoring on a 18 yard touchdown pass from K.J. Jefferson to Blake Kern only a minute twenty-two seconds into the game. Warren native Trey Burks would score a dew minutes later on a 49 yard touchdown run on a speed sweep. Burks would also grab 2 touchdown passes in the first half from 18 and 39 yards respectively. K.J. Jefferson would finish the night 10-17-194 yards with 4 touchdowns. Dominique Johnson led the Hogs on the ground with 91 yards rushing on 6 carries.

The Golden Lions defense were able to hold the Razorbacks scoreless in the second half, also scoring their only points of the game on a 4th quarter field goal by Zack Piwniczka. Skylar Perry went 7-18-107 yards and an interception for UAPB, while teammate Kierra Crossley had 13 rushes for 51 yards.

Arkansas will have bye week this Saturday, while the Golden Lions will travel to Houston, Texas to take on Texas Southern University.
