WEEVILS LOSE SERIES WITH OUACHITA BAPTIST AFTER SPLIT ON THE DAY

The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team split Saturday’s doubleheader, but dropped their conference series to Ouachita Baptist 2 games to1. UAM would win the first game 8-7, and fall in the second match 3-0.

The Weevils would take a 6-0 lead in game one after 4 innings, before allowing 3 runs by the Tigers in the bottom of the fourth inning. OBU would tie the game in the bottom of the eighth at seven sending the game into extra innings. Orlando Arevalo doubled to right field in the eleventh to drive in Cade Thompson for the final run of the ballgame. UAM would hold to the lead, for a 8-7 victory. The Weevils were blanked in game two, falling 3-0.

UAM is now 16-18 on the season, with a 11-13 GAC record. The Boll Weevils will be back in action Tuesday, Apr. 12 as they host Arkansas Tech University at 3:00 p.m.

 

BLOSSOMS DROP GAC SERIES WITH OUACHITA BAPTIST

The Arkansas-Monticello softball team were swept by Ouachita Baptist University in their weekend, GAC series, falling in game one 4-2, dropping game two 5-3, and falling in the series finally 6-4.

Caroline Tedder gathered 4 hits in the three games, followed by Alissa Suarez with 3 hits in the series.

The Cotton Blossoms are now 16-24 on the season and 10-13 in GAC play. The Blossoms return to the field on Wednesday, Apr. 13th as they host Southern Arkansas University for a make-up, GAC match at Alvy Early Softball Field.

 

UAM CHEER CLOSE OUT NCA COLLEGE NATIONALS WITH 5TH PLACE FINISH

UAM Cheer - NCA College Nationals 2022

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The UAM Cheer team closed out the finals of the NCA College Nationals competition on Friday afternoon. After coming out of Thursday afternoon’s prelims in 4th place, they close out the competition with a 5th place finish!

The standing is a top 5 in the nation finish in the Intermediate Small Coed Division for the UAM Cheer team, leaving them a feeling of accomplishment on the trip.
